17 best moments of 2017

Do you like to sum up your goals? I love this moment when I can sit with a notebook and a cup of coffee and remind myslelf the whole year. This time I prepared a summary of 2017, which is a little different, because it gathers 17 of my favorite, most significant or breakthrough moments:

1. A dream trip to South America

This year, I managed to realize probably the most anticipated journey in my life – South America. I visited six countries, focusing on discovering the most beautiful natural treasures. I’ve never been in places that have taken my breath away so much.

2. Trekking to Perito Moreno Glacier

From all of the magical moments of staying in South America, it’s the climbing of a 22.000-years-old glacier in Argentina (the third largest in the world) was the most moving travel experience (read more of this story HERE).

3. Writing the first travel book

I fulfilled my great dream – I wrote the first book of the most moving journey in my life: South America – the path of natural wonders. Despite various perturbations, the presale will start in the first half of January <3

4. Dinner with Argentinian steak and wine in Buenos Aires

The fact that I love steaks and red wine is not a discovery. But try them in one of the most famous restaurants in the oldest district of Buenos Aires – San Telmo while listening tango – it was a great cultural and culinary experience. I remember the taste until now!

5. The first anniversary of the blog and 600k views

This year, the blog celebrated the first birthday! A year of hard working, creativity and fighting against all doubters who said it would not work, resulted in the most surprising and wonderful gift – 600,000 views of my articles. Thank you my Dear Readers for this moving and supporting moment, because you are the ones who made it happen <3

6. Moving to Miami

Living next to the ocean has been my dream for many years. I used to imagine how is it to wake up with a view of the water and start the day feeling the sand under my feet. And how it would be going barefoot to watch the sunset with a favorite cup of coffee. The little things, only fleeting moments, but for me it was the fulfilment of the idea of the beautiful life. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. But this year I finally made it and the Atlantic was humming outside my window.

7. Total silence in Patagonia

There are places on earth that seem to be en specially created to be on the road. The landscape is endless, wherever you look, there is no border, nothing stops your eyes or thoughts. There is a space that gives a sense of freedom. There is also the silence. But not the usual one. It’s the total silence, which forces you to say something to yourself just to make sure that you can still hear. I experienced such silence for the first time in Patagonia and it was a moment that I will remember for a long time.

8. Sunrise in Florida

Watching sunrises in Florida (each day looked different) was one of the most wonderful moments of the year. Every day I got up at 5.30 am, sat at the lifeguard cabin and wait for my favorite show. It was time only for me, my battery charger for the whole day and a moment for reflection.

9. 80k views of the most difficult and most important article on the blog

In 2016, I got sick on dengue fever (you can read my story HERE), which turned my priorities upside down. Suddenly, it turned out that health can be fragile and fleeting, even when you are young and think of yourself as someone untouchable. It was a very difficult time for me and a huge trial. I was afraid to share my experience on the forum. However, I did this with a sense of duty and spreading knowledge about the aspects of travel, which we usually do not want to hear about and think that they do not concern us. I don’t regret it, because the article was read 80,000 times and from hundreds of messages that I got, I know that many people appreciated sharing my story.

10. See the wilderness of the Atacama Desert

Seeing the endless spaces of the driest place on earth – the Atacama Desert in Chile was one of the best moments of the year. Atacama is one great natural miracle. Its diversity, colorfulness and the sense of being the only human on Earth is indescribable. For most of the time, I’ve been feeling like a nature documentary character, the perfect one, with more vivid and saturated colors.

11. Cycling along Miami in the rhythm of a reggaeton

If I had to mention the coolest day in Miami, I would say that it was a day of a bike trip (over 60 km!) along the coast. The weather was perfect, I placed a radio on the basket, which played all latino hits (which really suits Miami vibes). It was a brilliant day! Palm trees, ocean, smiling people and Miami of my dreames – sunny, relaxed and erergetic.

12. Support of my dear readers, though we have never met

Until I started up a blog, I would never have thought that one could get so much warmth, support and kindness from strangers. My Dear Readers – I’m talking about you here. Over the past year, I got hundreds of wonderful and inspiring messages and comments with support. Each one was the most beautiful moment of this year. Thank you for being here and dropping by my (and I hope yours now) piece of the world ☺

13. Release of the first ebook – 3 days in Paris

In September, my first travel ebook was published – 3 days in Paris. It’s a magical city for me which I’ve visited many times. It’s also very close to my heart, because of my friends who I met while studying abroad and who live in Paris. I am very happy that I managed to gather my experience in a nutshell and put together the most interesting places and routes that are worth going while visiting this city. I think this ebook will be useful for those who want to visit Paris for the first time, but also for those who have no time and don’t know where to start exploring this fascinating place.

14. Become an Olympus ambassador and join the group of talented photographers

I am a self-taught photographer. Until this blog was created and mobilized me to learn, practice and constantly improve in taking photos I did them only for myslef. The photos have become not only pleasure for me, but a huge passion. Hunting for fleeting moments is one of the most beautiful aspects of traveling for me. I am proud that Olympus has seen this passion and supported me in my travel plans. This year I became its ambassador and joined talented group of Olympus photographers. For me it was and it is a great moment of the year.

15. Making a video about my beloved Warsaw

The video Visit Warsaw the active way, which I realized in the summer was my first professional production. I put a lot of work and heart into it. Recording in Warsaw, which is my home and having the opportunity to share its beautiful places with the world was a very important experience for me. If you have not seen it yet, I invite you to watch it HERE

16. Dreamy Greek villa stay for 29th birthday

This year, my trip to Greece came up for my 29th birthday. My dream was to spend them in a unique place with a beautiful view of the water, with cicadas playing in the background and sunset view from the terrace. It was the best birthday gift to me!

17. NBA in Miami

Basketball has always been my great love. Exceptionally, however, not for me as player, but as a fan. Watching NBA game live was on my dream list since my childhood. While my staying in Miami, I finally managed to fulfill this dream and watch the match between Miami Heats vs. Chicago Bulls <3 It was brilliant!
