Give yourself a little bit of luxury (Kuala Lumpur)

After a few months of travelling I was fed up with campings, hotels and all sorts of guesthouses. I decided that I needed a space only for myself to work and live for a while. I didn’t want to end up again in a small, dinky room in another hostel. It was a time of travelling around Malysia. I’m a fan of all sorts of city views, so I wanted to stay in a place where I can enjoy the city lights every night. Usually when you want to have a view like this from the hotel, you need to pay a lot for such a pleasure.

I didn’t want to spend all my money only for an apartment, so I went strait to the AirBnB to find myself a new home for a next few weeks. I had several criteria: I wanted to have a view, gym, my own kitchen, and a pool. Guess what. It wasn’t difficult at all! I spent about 20 minutes on research and there were plenty nice places to stay. I decided that was going be in Kuala Lumpur.

My absolute number one was Regalia Residence, 37-story apartment building, about 10 minutes from the city center. The apartment I found was even cheaper than a hotel I stayed before (which was a small room, dark as hell) and it cost only 35 USD per night (I negotiated lower price, because I stayed for longer).

Let me show you why it was worthy:

The apartment

It was a double room apartment with kitchenette (simple, but enough to cook a healthy meal), bathroom (huge shower!) and bedroom with kingsize bed. All of these arranged in modern and minimalistic style, what I liked the most. I also had a spectacular view of the city and Petronas Towers from every window.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Gym

As I am a fitness freak it was an important part of my day. It is hard to excercise outside when you have 30 Celcius and humidity of 90 per cent, so having a place with aircon is a blessing.

Look at my face. It was a leg day for sure! ;P

The gym was small, not perfectly equipped, but absolutely enough to do an intense full body workout (which I did everyday).

Pools

Ok, that was the best part! There are two amazing pools in the building. One is in the inside patio and it’s just perfect for morning cardio training (big and deep enough to really swim, not only soak yourself).

The coolest was the infinity pool on the rooftop with a view of Kuala Lumpur. It was impressive in the night and during the day. I thought that it will be very crowded, but it wasnt’t at all. I have spent there a few wonderful hours enjoying the feeling that I am at the top of the world. An early morning was myy favourite part of the day to go there, just before the sunrise. The view of the sun raising up between the skyscrapeer is priceless!

The restaurant on the rooftop

While travelling I love to try all types of food, especially street food, but sometimes I just need to take a break and eat in a fancy restaurant. The one in the building was elegant, the food was marvelous and the night view was just an iceing on the cake!

I was positvely suprised with the prices. You probably expect that in such place everything is quite pricey, but it wasn’t – the average price of the main course was 12-15 USD.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

To sum up, I encourage you to skip the hotels sometimes and try to find something on your own, renting from the local people. I am sure that you won’t regret it!

P.S. It’s not a sponsored post. I just really liked this place! ;)

If you like me post and find it helpful I would appreciate if you buy me a coffee and support my work. Thank you so much! :)
