When you think of Puerto Rico, glamour is probably not the first adjective that comes to your mind. The best hotels on the island, most of which have recovered from Hurricane Maria, are fully committed to luxury. They go with simple aesthetics, in which the views outside the window are the main decoration. However, this is not the case with the O:LV Fifty Five Hotel, which recently opened in the heart of San Juan‘s bustling district of Cornado.

The all-suite hotel, sister of the O:Live boutique hotel located nearby, is one of the first newly built properties opened in Puerto Rico after a hurricane. While O: Live is more about classic Caribbean colonial-style design, O: LV has taken a completely different approach. Instead of casual blues and cold neutral tones, the hotel has opted for Art Deco splendor. Imagine golden wardrobes, plush velvet furniture in bold shades of jewels, and dark walls. Welcome to both the sexiest and most glamorous hotel in Puerto Rico!

Luxury in a glamour style
Outstanding among massive buildings, intended exclusively for adults, the O:LV Fifty Five Hotel resembles a sophisticated city tower. It was designed from scratch by a design company that has won awards such as Best Design Hotel of the World and Best New Boutique Hotel awarded to London’s Boutique Hotel Awards.
This maximalist approach to design is clearly visible in 26 spacious suites, most of which have impressive views of the Condado Lagoon. There are lots of gilded accents here. The bathrooms are hidden behind glittering golden doors, and the minibar is hidden in custom-designed cabinets made of ebony wood. Most of the rooms also have a large L-shaped balcony overlooking the capital and the turquoise Cornado Lagoon.

The best view, however, is from the two-level ARYA Rooftop, where the hotel bar and restaurant are located. There is also an infinity pool surrounded by sun loungers with a view of the lagoon and a solarium with a jacuzzi (available only for guests). It is the perfect place to relax after sightseeing. There is also a Rolls-Royce from the 1970s, innovatively transformed into a combination of a bar and a DJ booth. It’s fair to say that nowhere else in the city you will find anything like it.

On the rooftop, you can relax in elegant, air-conditioned interiors or have lunch on the outdoor terrace with tables. At sunset, this is the perfect place to sip wine or cocktails.

High-end restaurants overlooking the lagoon of San Juan
If you are not going to explore the best restaurants in San Juan, you can take a seat in one of the two elegant hotel restaurants, and in the evening head to the rooftop to sip a drink and enjoy the view of the city.
On the first floor of the hotel, there is a very glam Caribbean/Asian restaurant Raya Restaurant. It brings the Asian spirit to O:LV Fifty Five and to the heart of Puerto Rico. Fresh fusion dishes created by world-renowned chef Mario Pagan are a feast for the senses. Chili drops with Avocado, Berkshire pig ribs with adobo spices, grilled wasabi cheese, and matcha beetroot cookies are just some of the recipes inspired by the flavors of Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, and Japan.

Be sure to also try cocktails with the addition of Sake and Japanese whiskey or let expert mixologists create a personalized combination of flavors for you!
Every Saturday and Sunday during brunch chef Mario Pagan will take care of your culinary needs. Be sure to try the signature ARYA burger with Havarti, egg, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic mayonnaise, or a classic steak. The outdoor terrace located on the rooftop of O:LV Fifty Five, will make the rooftop brunch an amazing experience itself.

Romantic experiences for two only
A: LV Fifty Five is a hotel designed for adults so that they can rest, relax and have a romantic moment only by themselves. That is why it is so perfect for a weekend getaway or an important anniversary. If you want to diversify your stay, you can choose from several interesting options:

What a date! Romantic picnic swimming on the lagoon. Designed with the sole intention for couples, the champagne floating deck is the most romantic experience the hotel has to offer. Perfect during the sunset.

Romantic dinner in a private apartment
You can also choose a romantic dinner in the comfort of your apartment. On the private balcony, in the light of candles, surrounded by roses there will be a table with the best chef’s dishes. You will also get a bottle of champagne.
O:asis Bath Experience
How about a romantic bath on a private terrace? Aromatic lavender salts, rose petals, a refreshing bottle of prosecco, and a dozen roses for an even better mood.

The Condado area of San Juan, Puerto Rico has become one of the more trendy neighborhoods in the Caribbean in recent years, with a diverse yet sophisticated hotel offering and a modern, urban vibe that is rather unique in the Caribbean.
O:Live definitely fits in being one of the sexiest boutique hotels in Puerto Rico. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of it?
