Weekend getaway in Puerto Rico and Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino experience

Today I would like to introduce you to the luxurious side of San Juan, where the combination of Spanish history and Latin smile create a unique experience of hospitality that will surely appeal to the tastes of even the most demanding traveler.

If you like city vibes, but you do not want to give up on the proximity of nature and beautiful landscapes, expressive cuisine, and a large dose of Latin, hot rhythms at every step, Puerto Rico will be a great choice. I had dreamed of visiting Puerto Rico for a long time and it was worth the wait because this beautiful Caribbean island took me to an exotic place, so unique and colorful that it was hard for me to believe that I was still (technically) in the United States.

I spent the first few days in San Juan at the flagship San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. It is definitely a hotel for people who like comfort, space, and access to all amenities within the reach of a hand.

The hotel is really big. There is a large swimming pool surrounded by tropical gardens that leads straight to the beautiful wide beach. Inside there is a spa and a casino that is always bustling with life. There are three restaurants worth visiting on the premises of the hotel, all just 15 minutes from downtown San Juan.

Although it is vast and full of entertainment, it does not lack class and stylish decor. The space of the hotel is designed so that you do not feel the number of guests. In the center of the beautiful lobby, the Red Coral Lounge, there is a beautiful bar, which is quite popular among the people of San Juan. Excellent cocktails are served here including the famous dragon berry mojito and in the evenings you can count on live salsa. This place full of life was my favorite, which probably does not surprise you :) And right next to it is the entrance to the Stellaris Casino

During my stay at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, I stayed in the Junior Suite overlooking the pool and garden. Waking up every morning with the sound of the rustling waves was priceless. The room was well equipped and spacious with a large bathroom and place where you can work, ideal for the traveling freelancer.

The hotel dining offer is very rich. San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has several restaurants. Gingambo – with a-la-carte dishes, buffet menu, but above all, a breathtaking view of the ocean from inside and outside the restaurant. Red Coral Lounge with a bar serving seafood. La Panaderia – cafe with freshly brewed, locally sourced Puerto Rican coffee, delicious pastries, and on-the-go options before heading to Condado Beach. Every day before breakfast, I started my day here with coffee and a quick e-mail check. Perfect for me. Fresh Bites famous for its international cuisine and refreshing cocktails. Perfect place for lunch.

There must also be a balance for all these delicious food, so I must also mention the beautiful Ocean Club Wellness Center with a spa (seriously one of the best massages I ever had!) And a fitness center. The gym is fully equipped and, what is very important to me, it is open 24/7. Thanks to this, I did not have to give up on doing anything to adapt to the opening hours of the gym. I was able to go to the gym whenever I had a free moment. It only enriched my stay and allowed me to maintain a fit routine that I always follow while traveling.

Whether you want to explore the city or hang out on Condado Beach, the hotel offers easy access to both. While the old town of San Juan is just a short drive away, Puerto Rico has more to offer than just old San Juan and the tasty rum that most visitors imagine. It is also home to the only tropical rainforest in the United States, El Yunque Rainforest. This amazing place consists of 28,000 acres of lively green nature and many streams and waterfalls to cool off.

If you are not into jungle tours, you will surely enjoy the swimming pool and the beautiful beach. When you get bored of chilling with a drink in your hand, the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has a lot of fun experiences to offer. Just ask the concierge to help you plan any trip. I also recommend you to take a taxi to Old San Juan and just get lost in the colorful streets. And if you want to make it a more “travel and keep fit” trip, the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino offers something really unique. On site, at the hotel, you can rent lit bikes and go for an evening ride around the area. Do not be surprised if the tourists from the ships arriving at the port will wave at you and greet you because you will be visible for a kilometer and people react very enthusiastically to it :)

If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing, or comfortable base to explore San Juan and its surroundings, the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has it all. A stay in a resort can be intimate, focused on chilling and luxurious relaxation, but also active and full of entertainment. The hotel offers a little bit of everything therefore is perfect for both families and couples.

Puerto Rico is one of the best places to go if you live in the United States. It is only a 2-hour flight from Miami, and American citizens do not need a passport to enter. This bustling with life Caribbean island is a great destination for a sunny getaway filled with taste, colors, and smile.
