Best Luxury Hotels in Seychelles: Raffles Seychelles & Six Senses Zil Pasyon – The Ultimate Luxury Getaway

Some destinations feel beautiful in photos. The Seychelles feel beautiful in real life. From the moment you arrive, everything is exactly as you imagined — turquoise water, granite boulders sculpted by time, and warm tropical air scented with salt and frangipani. But what makes the Seychelles truly special isn’t only the scenery. It’s the atmosphere. The rhythm of island life slows you down effortlessly, and suddenly you realize you’re breathing deeper, sleeping better, and noticing details you normally rush past.

There are trips you remember, and there are trips that redefine the way you see beauty. My journey to the Seychelles belonged to the second category — the kind that softens something deep inside you, quiets your mind, and makes the rest of the world feel very far away.

The Seychelles are not just a beach destination. They are an archipelago where luxury feels natural, where nature still feels untouched, and where each day can be shaped by both stillness and adventure — morning swims in crystal-clear water, jungle hikes through lush greenery, and evenings that end with sunsets so perfect they look unreal.

This journey was shaped by two exceptional stays: Raffles Seychelles on Praslin Island and Six Senses Zil Pasyon on the private island of Félicité. From the polished elegance and panoramic calm of Raffles to the wild, sustainability-driven magic of Six Senses, it felt like moving through two chapters of the same beautifully written story.

Two hotels.

Two completely different energies.

One unforgettable experience.

If you are planning your own escape and wondering where to stay in the Seychelles, this is my personal guide to two resorts that deliver far more than a luxury stay — they become part of the destination itself.

Raffles Seychelles — refined luxury on Praslin Island

Located on Praslin IslandRaffles Seychelles is one of those resorts that immediately feels elevated — both in atmosphere and in its physical setting. Built into the hillside above the coastline, it offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and a sense of privacy that is hard to find even in the Seychelles, where exclusivity is part of the destination’s appeal.

The property is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, and the design is intentionally spacious, allowing guests to feel immersed in nature without sacrificing comfort. Everything is laid out in a way that feels calm and discreet — ideal for travelers who want luxury, but also value peace and personal space.

I stayed in a villa with a private pool, and it was exactly the type of accommodation that makes a Seychelles trip feel complete. The villa offered generous indoor and outdoor space, with a terrace designed for long mornings, slow afternoons, and uninterrupted views. It also created a daily rhythm that felt naturally restorative — not because of any schedule, but simply because the environment encourages you to slow down.

Wellness That Feels So Natural

What I appreciated most about Raffles Seychelles is that wellness here doesn’t feel like a separate concept. It’s built into the lifestyle of the resort.

Most mornings started with yoga on my own private terrace, which quickly became one of my favourite routines during the stay. With warm air, ocean views, and complete privacy, it was the perfect way to begin the day. The setting makes movement feel effortless — and it’s one of those places where you naturally want to take care of yourself, without forcing it.

The spa experience at Raffles is equally aligned with that atmosphere. Treatments are designed around relaxation and recovery, and the spa feels like a quiet retreat within the resort. After travel and active days in the sun, it was the ideal place to reset — calm, professional, and deeply restorative.

Nature and conservation — Giant Tortoises and Sea Turtles

The Seychelles are not only defined by their landscapes — they are defined by the life those landscapes support. Two remarkable aspects of the islands’ natural heritage are the giant Aldabra tortoises and the endangered sea turtles, both of which play an essential role in the archipelago’s ecosystem.

At Raffles Seychelles, the connection to local wildlife extends beyond views and scenery. The resort offers the “Meet the Giant Aldabra Tortoises” experience, where guests can visit a sanctuary dedicated to these ancient, gentle giants. The Aldabra tortoise is one of the largest tortoise species in the world, and seeing them up close — calm, slow-moving, and completely unbothered by the world — adds a meaningful layer to the island experience. It’s a reminder of the extraordinary biodiversity the Seychelles protect, and of the importance of preserving it for future generations.

In addition to these terrestrial icons, the surrounding beaches and reefs support vital marine life. The islands provide important nesting grounds for hawksbill and green sea turtles, species that make long migrations across the Indian Ocean to return to these shores. Conservation programs work year-round to monitor nesting activity, protect vulnerable nests, and support hatchlings during the most critical stage of their journey to the sea.

Raffles Seychelles reflects this broader environmental responsibility through its connection to local sustainability initiatives and conservation awareness, which fits naturally with the Seychelles identity. It’s a meaningful reminder that true luxury travel in the Seychelles is inseparable from ecological stewardship — because the beauty that draws people here depends entirely on its protection.

Culinary Experiences and Island Flavours at Raffles Seychelles

Dining at Raffles Seychelles is a thoughtful part of the overall experience, where each meal reflects the unique character of Praslin and the Indian Ocean. The resort offers several distinct venues, each with its own style and atmosphere, yet all united by high‑quality ingredients, creative techniques and spectacular settings.

Losean Restaurant is the main culinary anchor of the resort — a place where you can begin your day with a generous breakfast buffet featuring fresh tropical fruits, pastries and made‑to‑order favourites, all set against panoramic ocean views. As evening falls, Losean shifts into an elegant dinner venue, blending Mediterranean influences with local seafood and island flavours, creating dishes that feel both familiar and inspired by the region.

For lovers of Asian cuisine, Curieuse Restaurant brings a vibrant pan‑Asian menu to life. Here, spices and herbs from across Southeast Asia, India and China are woven into dishes that balance bold flavours with delicate execution — an engaging contrast to the more subtle, seaside dining around the property.

One of the most memorable culinary experiences is The Sushi Room, where expert chefs prepare sushi, sashimi and creative omakase‑style dishes using fish and seafood sourced from local waters. The intimate setting, paired with the freshness of each bite, makes for a standout dinner that feels both refined and deeply tied to the ocean surrounding the resort.

For more relaxed moments, Pool Restaurant & Bar offers casual dining throughout the day — fresh salads, light mains and refreshing cocktails conveniently enjoyed by the pool. And when it’s time to unwind with drinks, Danzil Lounge provides a comfortable bar atmosphere with well‑crafted cocktails and local rums, perfect for a pre‑ or post‑dinner drink with sunset views.

What ties all these experiences together is a commitment to fresh, locally inspired cuisine and an effortless sense of place. Whether it’s a leisurely lunch by the pool, a sushi dinner crafted with the day’s catch, or a refined evening menu with ocean views, dining at Raffles Seychelles becomes a journey through the flavours of the islands — one that feels both personal and beautifully connected to this part of the Indian Ocean.

Sundowner at Anse Lazio — one of the best moments on Praslin

One of the highlights of staying at Raffles Seychelles is the opportunity to experience their Sundowner at Anse Lazio. Anse Lazio is often described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and seeing it in the late afternoon light makes it easy to understand why.

The experience is simple, but perfectly executed — arriving when the beach is quieter, feeling the air cool slightly, and watching the light shift over the ocean as the sun begins to disappear. It’s one of those moments that captures the Seychelles perfectly: effortless, scenic, and quietly luxurious. It also feels very authentic to Praslin — less staged, more natural, and focused on the beauty of the destination itself.

Six Senses Zil Pasyon — Sustainable Luxury and Raw Island Beauty

If Raffles feels like polished island glamour, Six Senses Zil Pasyon feels like stepping into a more untouched, elemental version of the Seychelles — where luxury is defined not by formality, but by privacy, space, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature in its purest form.

Arriving at Félicité Island is an experience in itself. The moment you approach the coastline, you can feel how different this place is — greener, wilder, and far more dramatic than the typical tropical island escape. Six Senses Zil Pasyon is the only resort on the island, and the rest of Félicité remains protected natural land, which creates a rare sense of exclusivity and complete separation from the outside world.

The scenery here is breathtaking in a more raw and powerful way: massive granite formations rising from the ocean, dense jungle that feels almost untouched, and waves crashing against boulders that look sculpted by time. Félicité has presence. It’s not only beautiful — it feels alive.

Everything about the resort is designed to blend into this landscape rather than compete with it. The villas are built into the natural terrain, carefully positioned among rocks and greenery, offering panoramic ocean views while still feeling discreet and protected. The entire property feels intentionally quiet and peaceful, even though the level of luxury is undeniably world-class.

I stayed in a private pool villa, and it was exactly the kind of space that defines the Six Senses philosophy: spacious, minimal, warm, and deeply connected to the environment. The design felt refined but never flashy — more like a private island sanctuary than a classic luxury hotel. The outdoor space became part of my daily routine, from morning swims to slow afternoons on the terrace and evenings when the sky shifted into soft gold and pastel pink over the ocean.

There is something incredibly freeing about staying on an island like this. You walk barefoot almost everywhere. Time feels less structured. The days flow naturally — and that, in itself, becomes one of the most luxurious elements of the experience.

Six Senses Wellness — A Lifestyle, Not a Service

Wellness at Six Senses Zil Pasyon is not something you schedule between meals. It’s a philosophy that shapes the entire stay.

The Six Senses Spa is one of the most iconic parts of the resort — tucked into lush greenery, designed as a sanctuary where nature becomes part of the healing experience. The atmosphere is calm and grounded, and the treatments are designed not only for relaxation, but for real restoration.

What I personally loved most was the way the spa experience felt aligned with the island itself. Everything here encourages you to slow down — from the setting, to the scent of tropical air, to the sense of privacy that makes you feel completely disconnected from the outside world.

The wellness approach goes far beyond treatments. Movement, mindfulness, nutrition, and sleep are treated as equally important parts of feeling well. Six Senses has a subtle way of improving your routine without forcing anything — you naturally wake up earlier, walk more, breathe deeper, and feel more present.

It’s one of the few resorts where wellness doesn’t feel like an extra activity. It simply becomes your lifestyle for a few days.

The Ultimate Playground — Snorkeling, Nature, and Island Adventures

Six Senses Zil Pasyon is not only a place to rest — it’s also one of the most exciting resorts in the Seychelles if you enjoy active travel. The island itself feels like a natural playground, offering a mix of ocean adventures and tropical exploration.

One of my favourite experiences was snorkeling, and it was truly spectacular. The water around Félicité is incredibly clear, and the marine life is vibrant and full of color. It’s the kind of snorkeling that reminds you why the Seychelles are considered one of the most beautiful island destinations in the world — not only above water, but under the surface as well.

The resort also offers a wide range of outdoor experiences, from kayaking and paddleboarding to hiking and discovering hidden beaches. Even without planning every activity, you naturally end up moving more because the island invites you to explore it. Everything feels adventurous but still elegant — very Six Senses in style.

The Sanctuary – Ultimate Privacy and Island Elegance

If you’re looking for the kind of experience where luxury and privacy come together seamlessly, The Sanctuary at Six Senses Zil Pasyon is truly one of the most incredible places I’ve had the privilege of discovering. Perched high above the cliffs of Félicité Island, this four-bedroom residence offers panoramic views of the ocean that make you feel like you’ve been transported to your own private world. With expansive terraces, an infinity pool, and an open, airy design, it’s clear that every inch of this residence has been thoughtfully crafted to blend with the natural surroundings — making you feel at one with the environment.

What sets The Sanctuary apart is the sense of exclusivity that comes with it. Imagine having a private team dedicated to making your stay as seamless as possible: from a personal chef preparing exquisite meals, to your own GEM (Guest Experience Maker) to handle every request. The level of attention to detail here is unlike anything else, whether you’re enjoying a quiet dinner under the stars or heading out on a private boat to explore the surrounding islands. This is truly the epitome of barefoot luxury.

Beyond the extraordinary design and service, the wellness offerings are just as remarkable. I had the chance to experience yoga sessions on the terrace, with the sound of the ocean in the background, and enjoy personalized spa treatments that left me feeling completely rejuvenated. This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a sanctuary for the mind, body, and soul.

Sustainability at Its Finest

Six Senses Zil Pasyon is one of the most impressive resorts I’ve experienced when it comes to sustainability. Their approach feels authentic — not symbolic, not performative, but deeply integrated into the way the resort functions every single day.

The resort is actively involved in marine conservation, including coral reef monitoring and restoration. In a destination like the Seychelles, where underwater biodiversity is one of its greatest treasures, this kind of work is not just important — it’s essential.

Six Senses also supports sea turtle monitoring and protection programs, contributing to the long-term preservation of endangered species and the fragile ecosystem of the islands.

Beyond marine initiatives, the resort places strong emphasis on reducing waste, limiting single-use plastics, and supporting local communities through responsible sourcing and long-term sustainability strategies. What makes it stand out is that sustainability doesn’t take away from the luxury experience — it elevates it. It adds depth, purpose, and meaning to the stay, reminding you that protecting this destination is part of what makes it so extraordinary.

Dining at Six Senses — Subtle Harmony with a Modern Twist

One of the most unforgettable aspects of my stay at Six Senses Zil Pasyon was the exceptional culinary journey that became an integral part of the overall experience. Dining at Zil Pasyon isn’t just about meals between activities; it’s a true celebration of taste and local traditions. Every meal was an adventure in itself, combining fresh, locally sourced ingredients with the creative flair of the chefs.

Mornings usually began at the Island Café, where the relaxed atmosphere and stunning ocean views set the perfect tone for the day. It’s a space that blends the island’s easygoing vibe with the highest quality. The table was always filled with fresh tropical fruits, baked goods, and international dishes, providing the ideal start to a day filled with exploration.

For lunch and dinner, I often chose Ocean Kitchen — another spot that surprised me with its perfect balance of simplicity and sophistication. Just a few steps from the sea, it serves specialties from local waters — fish and seafood — as well as produce from nearby farms and the resort’s garden. Each dish was light yet satisfying, perfect after a morning spent diving or hiking around the island.

One of the most beautiful culinary experiences was exploring flavors with a more personalized approach. Thanks to wine tastings, candlelit dinners, and seasonal menus inspired by both Creole cuisine and international culinary arts, every meal told a story of the island’s culture and history.

What makes the culinary experience at Six Senses Zil Pasyon so special? It’s the subtle harmony between the locally sourced ingredients and the modern approach to cooking. Whether I was sipping a drink at Koko Bar with the sound of the waves or discovering new flavors, the dining experience felt like a natural extension of the magic of this place.

Sunset Picnic on the Hill – An Unforgettable Experience at Six Senses Zil Pasyon

One of the most beautiful and magical moments of my stay at Six Senses Zil Pasyon was the experience of a unique sunset picnic on the hill. This signature ritual of the resort offers something more than just a meal outdoors — it’s a true ceremony that allows you to fully embrace the magic of this place.

Before we reached the hilltop, we were greeted by an incredible panoramic view of the island and ocean, bathed in the warm, golden light of the setting sun. Our private space was adorned with delicate, natural materials, and every aspect of the experience was thoughtfully planned with exceptional attention to detail. The table set against the backdrop of nature’s drama, the sound of the waves, and the warm breeze — it all made me feel like I was in a movie, with each passing moment drawing me deeper into this unforgettable atmosphere.

Two Resorts, One Dream Seychelles Itinerary

The Seychelles are more than just a beautiful tropical destination — they are one of the most unique luxury travel experiences in the world. With dramatic granite landscapes, crystal-clear water, and an atmosphere that naturally slows you down, this is the kind of place that feels both restorative and unforgettable.

Staying at Raffles Seychelles and Six Senses Zil Pasyon made the journey even more exceptional. Both resorts offer world-class service, breathtaking settings, and a strong focus on wellness, privacy, and nature immersion — exactly what many travelers look for when searching for the best hotels in the Seychelles.

If you are planning a luxury trip and wondering where to stay in the Seychelles, these two properties are truly worth building your itinerary around. Whether you prefer the refined elegance of Praslin or the wild private-island atmosphere of Félicité, both experiences represent the very best of what Seychelles luxury can offer.

Seychelles is a destination that had been on my travel wishlist for a long time, and it was worth the wait, as it’s one of those places that gives you a true sense of tropical travel fulfillment.

If you like me post and find it helpful I would appreciate if you buy me a coffee and support my work. Thank you so much! :)
