Weekend getaway: Singapore in 2 days

Singapore is one of the most interesting cities I have ever visited. The way it was created as s super modern, convenient and luxury city is a masterpiece. They say it’s a city of 21st century. I think that they are right. It’s very clean, neat and its architecture is impressive. What I like about Singapore is its style. You can easily spend a fantastic, intense weekend and you will have a time to explore the best attractions this city offers. Surely, you can stay here for a week and you will still have something to do, but if you have only a weekend, take a look at the best things you can do.

  • Marina Bay

The most famous place, because it offers a wonderful city view for skyscrapers and the well-known hotel Marina Bay Sands. It is a perfect place for a walk either during the day or the night. In front of the hotel (Event Plaza at the Promenade) you can watch 13-minute showpiece of visual effects (all week at 8.00pm and 9.30pm). It’s a nice break after a long, evening stroll.

  • Gardens by the Bay

This place is one of the most interesting spots in Singapore. It is a huge park with various gardens in the middle of the city. The architectural solutions are amazing and sometimes you can feel like you are in the moon garden. This is a must. I would suggest going there at the afternoon and staying until late, so you can see how the gardens look in the night. This is my favorite moment to be there. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Sands Sky Park Observation Deck

Iconic place. You haven’t seen Singapore until you’ve seen it from the Sands Sky Park Observation Deck. It’s placed on 57 levels above the heart of the city and will give you a priceless view of the Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay and all the fantastic skyscrapers. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Botanic Garden

This place might be a nice escape from the hustle & bustle of the hot city. It’s a very big area, full of shadowed places to relax and read a book. It has a pond with turtles, which are adorable. You can feed them with the special food you can buy in the vending machine next to the pond. Don’t forget to visit National Orchid Garden with one of the most amazing collection of orchids in the world.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Asian Civilization Museum

If you like museums, you will appreciate this one. It presents the cultural heritage of Asia and historical connections between China, Southeast Asia, India, and the Islamic World. The collections are beautiful and very impressive. This is a perfect place to spend an afternoon.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Little India, China Town, Arab Street

If you like to transfer to different culture for a while, you should choose one of the colorful and vivid districts of Singapore. Depend on what you like, you can spend some time in colorful Little India, where you can buy gold jewelry, eat dumplings in China Town or smoke a sheesha on Arab Street. Whatever you choose, you will have a great fun there.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Shopping and coffee break

Singapore is well known for its amazing shopping opportunities. This city offers all kinds of famous and luxury brands. If you like to spend some of your money for crazy shopping, it’s definitely place to do it. Try to start from a huge shopping center The Shoppes in Marina Bay Sands. If you get tired, take a break in one of the fabulous cafes.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • Clark Quay

To end up the day well, the best idea is to spend the evening (and night) in a historical riverside quay. This place is famous for its restaurant, bars and nightclubs so is perfect for a crazy and wild party with friends.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
